The objectives of the training workshop included introduction of Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis, introduction of steps of refered document overeview and meta-analysis, use of Stata or R in meta-analysis, use of Excel, Stata, R to estimate meta-coefficients, estimate of coefficients in some certain cases, advantages, disadvantages of each method of meta-coefficient estimation, Mantel-Haenszel, Peto method and select appropriate method of coef. .

The objective of the training workshop was to improve the capacity of research and the use of scientific evidence for development and evaluation of tobacco control policy in Vietnam. Participants included researchers with rich experience in tobacco research, program evaluation working at universities, research institutes and some hospitals receving financial supports from VINACOSH in 2015. . .
