On 21^st and 22^nd November 2018, Center for Population Health Sciences, Hanoi University of Public Health organized a training workshop on “Methods of Economic Evaluation applied in Health Technology Assessment”.

 

Objectives:

• Introduction of Health Technology Assessment.
• Introduction  of Methods of Economic Evaluation applied in Health Technology Assessment.
• Concepts and process of Cost-Effectiveness Analysis.
• Concepts and application of Decision Analytic Modeling into Cost-Effectiveness Analysis
• Application of Excel and TreeAgePro software into Cost-Effectiveness Analyiss (Decision Tree model and Markov model)

• Prof. Nguyen Xuan Thanh, Institute of Health Economics, School of Public Health, University of Alberta, Canada.
• Assoc.Prof Hoang Van Minh, Vice Rector of Hanoi University of Public Health.
• Assoc.Prof Pham Huy Tuan Kiet, Head of Department of Health Economics, Hanoi Medical University.

 

Participants:

Participants of the workshop included lecturers and researchers interested in Health Technology Assessment, Economics Evaluation from universities, research institutes and other relevant agencies.

Results:

The training workshop has been successfully completed after two separated working days. After the workshop, the participants understood the concept of Health Technology Assessment and other relevant definitions as well as used models in Cost-Effectiveness Analysis. During the training workshop, the participants practiced analyzing Cost-Effectiveness via Excel and TreeAgePro software.
