Trainning workshop on “Baysian statistics in medical research”, Hanoi University of Public Health 22-24/10/2018
From 22 to 24 October 2018, Hanoi University of Public Health organized a 3-day training workshop on “Baysian statistics in medical research using Stata and R”
Objectives:
- Introduction about Bayesian approach and difference between Baysian and Frequentist
- Analyzing data with Baysian statistics
- Reporting results of Baysian Statistic
- Practicing Baysian statistics using Stata 15.0
- Using R (the R interface to Stan) in Baysian statistics
Lecturer:
Doctor. Khuong Quynh Long – University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Ho Chi Minh
Participants:
Participants of the workshop included lecturers and researchers specializing Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Hanoi University of Public Health and Hanoi Medical University.
Agenda:
A detailed agenda of the workshop can be downloaded
here.
Results:
Workshop was completed successfully. After the workshop, participants understood Baysian approach and the differences compared to the traditional “Frequentist” approach and practiced data analyses using Baysian approach via Stata 15.0 and R. The workshop has listed out some objectives and plans of applying Baysian approach for some studies of Hanoi University of Public Health and Hanoi Medical University in near future.
