Data collection for research “Cultural Adaptation and Evaluation of mHealth Interventions for Smoking Cessation in Vietnam”

 

From 17/03/2018 to 02/04/2018, Center for Population Health Sciences (CPHS) – Hanoi University of Public Health has conducted the data collection for the study “Cultural Adaptation and Evaluation of mHealth Interventions for Smoking Cessation in Vietnam” in Chi Linh District, Hai Duong province.

 

Objectives:

This project aims to build and strengthen the capacity to develop and disseminate evidence-based, culturally appropriate interventions for smoking cessation using mHealth approach.

 

Specific objectives

  • To develop and examine the efficacy of a culturally-enhanced mHealth intervention to promote smoking cessation among adult male smokers in Vietnam.
  • To build and strengthen sustainable capacity for rigorous research on smoking cessation intervention studies using scalable mHealth methods in Vietnam.

 

Research site:

Van An ward and An Lac commune in Chi Linh district, Hai Duong province.

 

Research methodology:

This is a mixed method study which combines a qualitative study and a quantitative survey.

 

Implementing Agency:

Center for Population and Health Science- Hanoi University of Public Health.

 

Co-implementing Agency:

Georgia State University, United State of America.

Health facilities and related agencies in Chi Linh district, Hai Duong province.

 

Sponsorship Agency:

The Fogarty International Center of the U.S. National Institutes of Health.
