Recently, under the sponsorship of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Australia, a study on "Social protection policies for people with disabilities in low-middle income countries" has been approved and is being implemented in collaboration of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in London, United Kingdom and the Center for Population Health Sciences - Hanoi School of Public Health, Vietnam. The study result is expected to be completed and published in December 2016. At the same time, the research findings will be used in press releases and international medical journals with high reliability and accuracy.
The study focuses on two main objectives including:
Up to now, the team has organized a consultation workshop to contribute ideas on methods and approaches as well as output indicators of research at the Hanoi School of Public Health, a key five-day training for data collectors in Da Nang to collect qualitative and quantitative data, and ongoing data collection in the field in Cam Le district, Danang city. Expected completion of data collection is in late June 2016.
