Presentation:

The 6th national scientific conference on HIV / AIDS consisted of: two plenary sessions and 11 thematic sessions. In addition to the formal sessions, the conference also had four satellite workshops, along with the activities of 21 exhibitors, press corner and 40 posters that were displayed. In formal sessions and satellite workshops, scientific reports, discussions and seminars had been presented, aiming at achieving 90-90-90 (By 2020, 90% of Vietnamese people will be aware of their HIV status, 90% of people diagnosed with HIV will receive ongoing ARV therapy and 90% of people receiving ARV treatment will be able to control the virus at a low and stable level).

Besides the thematic session on prophylaxis of HIV transmission from mother to child, the treatment of HIV / AIDS in children, scientific molecular test for HIV / AIDS, thematic sessions of Health Economics and Health Insurance under the chairmanship of Dr. Nguyen Hoang Long, director of the Department of HIV / AIDS, and Dr. Kristan Schout were of interest to many.
 

Participants:
Attending the conference were more than 1,000 scientists and delegates, including more than 200 international delegates, the conference attracted the participation of ministries, departments, branches, associations, research institutes, universities; international organizations, local and foreign non-governmental organizations; leaders from the Department of Health, Center for HIV / AIDS prevention in 63 provinces/cities; reporters from the central and city press.
