Workshop for project “Documenting how the arts & storytelling can save lives: The Vietnam Breast Cancer Partnership”

 

In the framework of the collaborative research project “Documenting how the arts and storytelling can save lives: The Viet Nam Breast Cancer Partnership”, between Hanoi University of Public Health (HUPH) and Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland (QUB), the HUPH organized a Strategic Project Planning Workshop on 11 - 13/4/2018. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Minh, Vice Rector and researchers of the HUPH welcomed and discussed with the QUB delegation led by Dr. Lynne Lohfeld, researchers from the K3 Hospital and Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Humanities. The study was funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) in the United Kingdom for three years (2018-2020). The study consists of three components: (1) Building the theoretical basis of the study, (2) Providing evidence through qualitative research, and (3) Building and testing communication materials using arts and storytelling approach for the prevention of breast cancer in Vietnam. In addition to two days of intensive discussion on the content and implementation plan of the project, the QUB delegation and Vietnamese researchers visited and worked with several health facilities and art organizations in Hanoi.
