Workshop on dementia prevalence research, relationship to NCDs

 

 

On 16 and 17th May 2017, in collaboration with Queen’s University Belfast (Northern Ireland, UK), Hanoi University of Public Health has successfully organised the workshop “To determine optimal way forward for dementia prevalence research and relationship to non-communicable diseases in health and demographic surveillance sites in Vietnam and Malaysia”.

 

Objectives:

  • Foster collaborations between researchers in the field of dementia and non-communicable diseases (NCDs);
  • Learn about the 10/66 dementia assessment method from Professor Martin Prince; and
  • Discuss approaches to develop community-based management and intervention model for dementia (based on genetic, clinical, environmental and behavioral risk factors in Vietnam and Malaysia).

Participants:

Participants are researchers and clinicians from Queen’s University Belfast, Monash University Malaysia, Perking University, University of Southern California, WHO Vietnam, Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation - The International Center (IC-VVAF), Vietnam National Geriatric Hospital and Hanoi University of Public Health.
