Title of the research:
Evidence-Based Approach To The Evaluation And Planning Of Breast Cancer Services In Vietnam
Background: There is limited data related to breast cancer services in Vietnam. Data that has been collected shows that (compared to international data) detection of breast cancer often tends to be late, that the age of diagnosis tends to be young, and that services are limited by resources and capacity.
Objectives:
To undertake a population-based evaluation of the accessibility, affordability, and appropriateness of breast cancer services (detection, diagnosis & treatment) in Vietnam.
Time period:
February to July 2017
Research sites:
Hanoi, Bac Giang, Hue, Dong Thap
Methodology:
Mixed-method, multi-site, and multi-level methodology, using an adapted SARA (Service Availability and Readiness Assessment) model (WHO) to focus on services specifically related to breast cancer, and incorporating qualitative elements will be used
