Title of the research:
Mapping community health care uses geographic information system (GIS) in Quoc Oai district, Hanoi, 2016
Hanoi Medical University (HMU), Ho Chi Minh University of Medicine and Pharmacy (UMP) of Vietnam have been working together with Seoul National University (SNU) from Korea to plan for a 5-year intervention project in both the North and the South. In the North, based on the consultations with Hanoi Health Bureau, the HMU-UMP-SNU team has decided to select Quoc Oai district of Hanoi as the project site. Geographic Information System (GIS) has become an effective tool to support research for many areas of natural, social and economic. GIS has been developed more than 30 years. In Vietnam, the GIS technology into the application starts from the late 90s and developed rapidly in the past 10 years. The development of GIS technology to date has demonstrated the effectiveness of its application in life in general and research in particular. GIS technology allows us to design the database through the data sheet to make the link between information and spatial properties, which can perform query and analysis, management, data display, help for managers to make decisions and the right solutions in the management. In health GIS has been applied in numerous studies. This survey is the next step of the community survey to describe the distribution of healthcare and accessibility of household in Quoc Oai using (GIS).
Objectives:
- To describe distribution of household in community survey in Quoc Oai district by (GIS), 2016
- To describe distribution of health care facility in Quoc Oai district by GIS, 2016
- To describe cover of healthcare facilities and healthcare accessibility of household by mapping

This is a cross-sectional study

January 2017 – June 2017

17 communes in Quoc Oai District, Hanoi
